Welcome to our new site "The Tween Years".  Focus on ages 9-14.

What is this new term that we see popping up all over the place?  What are tweens?  Tweens are children in the age group of approximately 9-14 years of age.  What ever happened to preteens?  When I was growing up I remember being so excited when my double digit birthday finally came.  I was now a preteen.  So what has changed?  Society has changed.  Our children are getting faced with the pressures that typically affected teens at  a much earlier age then ever before.  Sex, drugs, dating, fashion and peer pressure are just a few things that we as parents are having to deal with in today's society.  How do we cope?  How do we parent these children effectively, protect their innocence and teach them how to make right choices?  I don't have the answers to any of these questions.  There are very few resources out there to support parents as we tread these new waters.  This is why I developed this website.  Please keep on popping over to watch us grow.  Read the blog of three moms and join in discussion on the message board.  Cya soon.  Robyn

Did you know that half of all students report being bullied at some time? And 15% of students are being bullied on a daily basis.

We all want our children to be happy, don’t we? If your child is miserable because they are being bullied, then this is the most important message you’ll EVER read.  Click Here!

We introduced the Positive Parenting method in our home at a family meeting.  Since then things began to change in our family dramatically!  I woke up the next morning to find my 11 year old daughter emptying the dishwasher on her own without even being asked!  I was amazed!  The Positive Parenting System works!  Doug Dahl
